The Olio delle Sirene – Sorrento 2026 Award is one of the most prestigious international competitions for the excellence of Italian and foreign olive oil. In the 2026 edition, Frantoio Romano Vincenzo won first place overall in the DOP/IGP category with its Monte Etna DOP. In particular, as reported by the technical jury, the competition saw the participation of about 400 oils from across the Mediterranean, and the 16 tasters present highlighted “the high quality of all the oils, some with a maximum score of 100”. The victory at Olio delle Sirene 2026 therefore confirms the international recognition of the territorial identity and organoleptic properties of Monte Etna oil, which comes from olives cultivated on the slopes of Mount Etna.
At the 23rd International AIPO d’Argento Competition (Bardolino, April 2026), the company received numerous awards. On the occasion of the awards ceremony, the Romano olive oil mill received the special Pieralisi Award, established to honor mills that adopt innovative technologies in the extraction process. The award citation highlights "attention to detail, focus on sustainability, and extraction management consistent with the highest quality standards". In the same competition, Frantoio Romano Vincenzo won the first Gran Goccia d’Oro award in the DOP – Intense Fruity category (with Monte Etna DOP) and two Gocce d’Oro (third place) in the Two Gocce d’Oro category, respectively with the monovarietal oil Le Sciare Novecento and the blend Le Sciare. These awards (obtained among over 400 samples in competition) attest to the organoleptic excellence of the products both in the segment of the best DOPs and in that of monovarietal and blended oils.
Finally, Frantoio Romano Vincenzo distinguished itself at the Japan Olive Oil Prize 2026 – Tokyo, a leading international competition for the East. The 2026 edition reached a record of 691 oils in competition from 25 countries. In this context, the company obtained a gold medal among the awarded DOP oils, positioning itself among the top Italian quality productions in the Japanese market. This success highlights Frantoio Romano’s ability to compete globally, showcasing the value of its extra virgin olive oils.
In conclusion, the awards won in 2026 confirm Frantoio Romano Vincenzo's role of excellence in the international olive oil scene.
The achievements at Olio delle Sirene, AIPO d’Argento, and the Japan Olive Oil Prize testify to the consistent quality of the company's raw materials and production processes, a result of Etna's olive-growing tradition combined with technological innovation. These recognitions reward the oil mill's commitment to bringing the distinctive quality of Sicilian DOP oils to tables around the world.
